Maybe it was, but the conversation wouldn't have turned, well, peculiar -for lack of a better word- with that other person. Though maybe there might have been some guilt felt.

( Because he did mention that friend of his had introduced the lady assassin, and so is the case, maybe it was better they ended having a rather awkward conversation instead of one where he might have made his friend, maybe, feel worse and then he would have felt also worse for doing so...considering what she knew of him already.

Indeed he does, there are other flavors more than vanilla, after all, he just needs not to go after, you know, assassins. )

I will like to say that in your defense, you didn't know it was me. Yet that message you sent wasn't the best either. I see, if I may, have you searched her? With that I mean, to see if she has any means to take her own life to make sure she maintains her silence. I do remember the last person that came for me, had a fake tooth with poison and he died without before we could even question him.

( They might have left the awkward conversation behind if she's giving a piece of advice, but it is imperative to know if this had been something the woman had done on her own or if there was something more elaborate. )

While I'm glad that you value our conversations and know that I do as well, you know you only need to text, and I will respond. And I'm sure Sylvain will earn your forgiveness at some point.

( Mostly because the man will feel guilty enough, and Dimitri holds great esteem towards his friends, which might not make him hold onto grudges for long. )

I can think of anything to ease your pain more than -they haven't succeeded yet, and I'm still here. It was more fear than desperation that drove him. We believe whoever paid would have taken worse retaliations than us for failing.

( Which had been a worrisome thought, but no other incidents, so they either gave up or lost interest in her -probably the latter if she was being honest. )
